Terms and Conditions

These terms apply to Continuing Education and Training (CET) short courses offered by the Department of Statistics and Data Science, Faculty of Science, National University of Singapore.

1.1 All registration for CET short courses is submitted through the NUS Lifelong Learning Application Portal. Participants may refer to the L3AP Learner Portal for portal-related steps.

1.2 Participants must provide accurate and complete information during registration.

1.3 Participants must meet the course prerequisites, where applicable.

1.4 Registration will only be confirmed upon completion of the required application, payment, corporate sponsorship (if applicable), and administrative records.

1.5 DSDS reserves the right not to accept or confirm an application if the participant does not meet the course requirements.

2.1 For self-sponsored participants, course fees must be paid before course commencement, unless otherwise stated.

2.2 For corporate-sponsored participants, sponsorship and billing arrangements must be confirmed before course commencement.

2.3 Fee subsidies and funding eligibility, including citizenship, residency status, age-based subsidy tiers, and other applicable funding conditions, are subject to verification through the relevant NUS, SWDA, and L3AP processes.

2.4 Participants and sponsoring organisations are responsible for ensuring that payment or sponsorship arrangements are completed on time.

3.1 Participants must meet the attendance, assessment, and completion requirements for the course.

3.2 Participants who do not meet the completion requirements will be deemed not to have passed the course.

3.3 Attendance will be recorded through SWDA e-attendance and manual attendance.

4.1 Certificates will be issued only when all applicable course completion requirements are met.

4.2 These requirements may include payment status confirmed as paid, 75% attendance fulfilment and assessment pass status.

4.3 Certificates will not be issued if payment remains outstanding.

4.4 For applicable courses, e-certificates will be issued through L3AP or the relevant certificate issuance system.

4.5 E-certificates will be issued within 20 working days after successful completion of the programme, provided that all completion requirements are met and payment has been received.

5.1 DSDS may change course arrangements where necessary, including course schedule, venue, trainer, delivery mode, or other operational details.

5.2 DSDS may cancel or reschedule a course run where necessary.

5.3 If DSDS cancels or reschedules a course, participants will be offered another available run or the appropriate refunds and reversal, subject to applicable payment and funding rules.

6.1 Withdrawal or deferment requests must be submitted through either the L3AP or by email to fos.shortcourses@nus.edu.sg.

6.2 Requests should be submitted at least 7 calendar days before course commencement.

6.3 Deferment to another course run is subject to availability.

6.4 Requests received fewer than 7 calendar days before course commencement, no-shows, and post-commencement withdrawals are generally not eligible for refund or deferment, unless exceptional circumstances are approved.

7.1 Approved refunds and reversals will be processed according to the applicable payment mode and funding rules.

7.2 Any approved refund and reversal will generally be made to the original payer and, where practicable, through the original payment method.

7.3 No refund will be processed for an NUS Alumni participant who used an R&G voucher for the course.

8.1 Feedback may be submitted through email to fos.shortcourses@nus.edu.sg.

8.2 Feedback requiring follow-up will be acknowledged within 5 working days.

8.3 A response will generally be provided within 15 working days after sufficient information is received.

8.4 If more time is required, participants will be updated before the response deadline and at least every 10 working days until resolution.

9.1 Appeals must be submitted by email to fos.shortcourses@nus.edu.sg, within 10 working days from the date the written decision is sent to the participant.

9.2 A complete appeal will generally be decided within 20 working days.

9.3 The appeal outcome will be provided in writing, and the decision is final.
