Fàilte!

I am an assistant professor in the department of statistics and applied probability of the National University of Singapore. Before that I worked as a research associate and visiting scholar at Heriot-Watt University, Scotland, and the University of Cambridge, England, respectively.

Teaching

In the 2009—10 academic year, I am lecturing:
ST2238 Introductory Biostatistics (semester 1)
and supervising two freshman seminar series (semester 2).

In the 2008—9 academic year, I lectured:
ST3242 Introduction to Survival Analysis (semester 1) and
ST2238 Introductory Biostatistics (semester 2).

I have created some statistical tables in LaTeX that you may wish to adapt for your own purposes.

Research

My research centres around modelling of phenomena as stochastic processes and inference for such phenomena. The main application of my research is infectious diseases. To date, I have worked on damping-off of Brassica spp., the common cold, influenza and ebola in humans, canker in citrus trees, and sudden oak death in inter alia Quercus spp. I am also interested in ecological processes, such as species invasion and population regulation.

About Me

Raised in Scotland, I now live in Singapore with Naoko, Yūri and Seiju. Scotland is cold and wet. Singapore is hot and wet. This is my predominant impression of the difference between the two countries.
