For Students Matriculated from 1998/99 to 2003/2004


Programme Structure

  • SA1101 is an essential module for Statistics. Module SA1101 cannot be used to satisfy the Faculty exposure requirement.
  • Students taking Statistics as  a shared major must read and pass SA1101, SA2101, SA2102, SA3101, and a minimum of 3 other SA22XX or SA32XX elective modules of which at least 2 must be SA32XX modules. Some of these essential modules may be prerequisites for individual statistics modules.

  • Students, matriculated before 2004, who are currently reading Statistics as shared major could proceed to read any ST module offered in Faculty of Science. The mapping scheme of SA and ST modules is given below for references:

Students who are matriculated in 2004 or later should read ST2XXX-ST3XXX modules to fulfil the shared major requirements.

For Students Matriculated From 2004/2005 NEW

Subject Major Requirements

Shared Major (B.A.)

Accumulate at least 32 MC which include the following:

1. Pass MA1102R, ST2131, ST2132 and ST3131.
2. Pass a minimum of 16 MC of ST2137 or ST32XX modules, of which at least 12 MC are ST32XX modules.
